Well your CV is basically your representation in a document form so it should tell & look in a similar way that matches your persona , CV's or Resume have had a stagnant look and feel over the years and which is kinda BORING with the little bit of experience I have spent in a recruitment firm I have picked up a few pointers on how to compile your CV in a better manner 


STEP 1



An Old format is a "NO,NO"  it is confusing and untidy recruiters are often skeptical when it comes to these kinda CV's  as they tend to look for what is more appealing to them especially when there are a lot of people applying for the same job vacant

a modern yet with a touch of classic CV has that appealing look to it and it grabs a readers attention and it details more into what that actual person is about and what they have to offer , Yes skills and qualifications are important but so as your impression .

What makes this CV ineffective?

  • At first glance, this CV example looks very generic, dull and boring.
  • It is poorly written and badly structured.
  • The CV contains vague statements which are not supported by real-world examples.
  • The CV contains too much irrelevant and/or outdated information.
  • The layout and presentation of information are unsatisfactory.
  • The font is inappropriate and difficult to read.

  • It has a great format and layout , making it easier to read.
  • Bullet points and short sentences and appropriately used.
  • The CV is fully tailored to the job the candidate is applying for.
  • A minimal amount of colour and design is used to improve the CV’s presentation and visual appeal.
  • It includes all the information a standard CV should contain.
  • The same format for dates is used throughout the sections.

When Applying For A job Online It Is Essential For A Person To Be Specific At What They Are Applying For 




  • Pay attention to the subject column when applying and state what you are applying for 
  • give a lil bit of information about yourself and why you are applying 
  • whatever document you are attaching you have to make sure it is in PDF as admin managers are often skeptical when it comes opening other formats could be a malicious spamware  I personally do not blame them 
  • and lastly make sure you pay your nyanga in advance and hope for the best

as we know scammers are everywhere and most importantly when it comes to job opportunities as we live in a country with a large economic gap those in need are left vulnerable to job scams I myself have been a victim of these  .. well platforms such as INDEED.com , gigajob.com or jobmail.com are a great tools for job Seekers but that is where you find your personal information at risk from scammers 
and from my observation most big firms and businesses do not often use these platforms when they need personnel and I have never came across somebody who has found a decent job from them

  • Or surprisingly finding yourself in some training for a week only to find out gore you were being sold a fake SAQA accredited Certificate
  • money for uniform 
  • or even buying a job is just absurd 
  • do your research on the company find out if they have accreditations or they are registered on the CIPC and more research even reviews from other people
